Order Custom Photo Prints
Here are some common questions regarding printing and our editor:
-
Does the editor change the colour or resolution of my image? Yes and no. The editor exports all files at 300dpi and in sRGB, both necessary settings for print. If your images already have the correct settings, they will not be affected by the editor.
-
If I’m ordering multiple prints or a bundle, do I need to upload / size each image individually? No, you can upload multiple images at a time in our editor. Additionally, our editor allows you to batch select your images and choose the size + paper finish of your prints, all in the editing panel.
-
Do you offer custom sizes? No, however we offer 34 different size options for Photo Prints, and 15 sizes for Archival Fine Art Prints. You can view our Size & Pricing chart here.
You can still order a custom size through our editor, however you will have to pick the next size up in the editor (ie. select 10”x15” for a 9”x13” print), as well as upload a cropped image to the editor. Below are instructions on how to do that in Adobe Photoshop (these instructions can also be used for Affinity).
How to Order a Custom-sized Photo Print Through our Editor
Our editor does not allow you to re-size your image to a custom size. To order a custom size, your image will need to be cropped in Adobe Photoshop before uploading it to our editor. For this example, we will be ordering a custom-sized 9”x13” print.
1 - Review Our Size Chart
For a custom-sized print, you will need to order the next size up. For instance, if you want a 9”x13” print (final size) you will need to order a 10”x15” print in the editor. This will determine the size of your artboard in Photoshop. You can view our Size & Pricing chart here.
2 - Create Your Artboard
In Photoshop, create a new file sized to the next size up. For a 9”x13” print, you would need to size your artboard to be 10”x15”. Ensure that your resolution is set to 300ppi, and that your working space colour profile is set to sRGB. Click “Create”.
3 - Create Your Cropped Image Size
Using the Rectangle Tool, add a rectangle to your artboard and size it to your desired custom size (in this example it will be 9”x13”)
4 - Add Your Image + Clipping Mask
Add your image to your artboard: you can do this by simply dragging+dropping the image file into the artboard and hitting Enter.
Once the image is on your artboard, right-click on the image layer and select “Create Clipping Mask”. Now your image is cropped to 9”x13” and you can adjust the framing by moving the image (click+drag) on the artboard.
5 - Save & Export
Save the file (File > Save), then Export your image file: File > Export > Export As…
In the exporting window, select JPG (or PNG) as Format, select High (7) for Quality, and click Export.
You’re set! This is the image file you will be uploading to our editor.
6 - Upload to the Editor
To place your order, go to our website, sign into your account, and navigate to the Photo Prints page. In the Editor, upload your image file. IMPORTANT: in the editor make sure the print size is the same as the size of your artboard (in this example it’s 10”x15”). Select your desired paper finish. Click Save, then Order. Proceed to checkout and you’re done!
**Please note that we do not offer trimming on custom-sized orders. Customers are responsible for trimming their prints to their desired final size.
