Starting September 2026, our Layflat Photobooks will have a different binding style to allow for better image reproduction and layouts. We are changing the binding from a perfect binding with hinged pages, to a flushmount binding similar to our Photo Albums. This change will allow you to create continuous and uninterrupted spreads with no gap in the gutter (center of the spread).
What will be the difference between a Layflat Photobook and a Photo Album?
While both will have the same binding method, their printing method and paper offerings will be different. Here’s a quick rundown:
Photo Album:
- Print method: Silver-Halide Printing (same as Photo Prints)
- Papers: Fuji Crystal Papers (Luster, Deep Matte, Metallic)
- Page thickness: 0.60mm to 1.3mm
- Min-Max Page Count: 20-60 pages
- Addition: The Photo Album includes thick pages and a ribbon, and the Premium Photo Album has exclusive textile options and a paper core for extra page thickness.
Premium Layflat Photobook
- Print method: high quality Digital Offset Printing
- Papers: Satin or Matte papers
- Page thickness: 0.25mm
- Min-Max Page Count: 20-100
- Addition: The Layflat Photobook comes with more size options than the Albums, as well as being more cost effective and allowing for more pages.
